The fraction of Levane remains divided between the town of Montevarchi and the Bucine
Originally, the first settlement was made up of a castle which took the name Castle Leon, with a village High Levane said, to differentiate it from Levane, place downstream, on the right bank of the river Ambra. Both the castle domain instead of the plain that the city had placed in a strategic position, given that the town Levane were cross-breeding with the road from Arezzo to Florence, and the road from Val D 'Ambra went up all' Arno.
